Domestic Flight In Myanmar
In Myanmar, the former Airlines had three domestic Airlines called Air-Mandalay, Yangon Air Ways & Air-Bagan. And also two Airlines is going newly to be launched successfully inaugurated on March & April, 2011 which the name called Asian Wings & Air KBZ (Air Kanbawza). All domestic flights can be operated more than 30 routes in Myanmar. There are the details interesting facts as per follow.
Air Mandalay Limited, the first regional joint venture airline in Myanmar, was formed on October 6, 1994.The shareholders are the national carrier Myanmar Airways, Air Mandalay Holdings Pte Ltd of Singapore and Premier Airlines Pte Ltd of Malaysia. We currently fly to all major destinations in Myanmar and to Chiang Mai in Thailand.
Air Mandalay with one ATR 72 and two ATR 42 Aircrafts operates its golden flights from Yangon to Bagan, Mandalay, Heho, Tachileik, Kyaing Tong and Sittwe regularly and to Thandwe during the period of October to May. In addition to these domestic destinations, international routes are also operated from Yangon to Chiang Mai, Chaing Mai to Mandalay and operate charter flights to any feasible destinations upon request.
Air Mandalay's logo depicts the mythological Royal Hintha Bird which symbolizes loyalty, respect for traditional values, stability, good luck and prosperity. The colour represents the numerous golden pagodas found throughout Myanmar-The Golden Land. Burgundy signifies the colour of the robes worn by Buddhist monks in Myanmar, thus standing for religious values.
Selection and training of our cabin crew is aimed at providing high levels of service consistent with Myanmar's gentle traditions. We employ both local and foreign pilots who are trained at Avions de Transport Regional (ATR) training facilities. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are trained at both ATR and Pratt & Whitney's facilities. Air Mandalay's aircraft are maintained to European JAR 145 standards. All aircraft in Air Mandalay's fleet are inspected twice a year by French DGAC. Air Mandalay's maintenance facility and maintenance standards are European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 145 approved. Air Mandalay is the only airline in Myanmar with this approval. Air Mandalay's modern fleet is currently comprised of two ATR 72-212s and one ATR 42-320, built by Aerospatiale of France and Alenia of Italy and powered by Canadian built Pratt & Whitney engines.
Yangon Airways was established in October 1996 as a domestic airline in a Joint venture between Myanma Airways, the state-owned national airline and Krong-Sombat Co. of Thailand. In October 1997, MHE-Mayflower Co. acquired Krong-Sombat's shares in Yangon Airways and since then the airline has evolved into a principal domestic airline operating scheduled and charter services from Yangon to 13 prime commercial and tourist destinations in Myanmar.
Yangon Airways currently opeates regular flights to all major tourist destinations in Myanmar, such as: Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaung U (Bagan), Heho, Kyaing Tong, Tachileik, Lashio and Thandwe during the period of October to April (Peak Season). In addition to these domestic destinations are also operated from Yangon to Dawei, Myeik and Kawthaung without Thandwe during the period of May to September (Low Season). It operates the arrangement of charter flights to any feasible destinations upon request.
Yangon Airways operates new ATR 72-210s powered by Pratt & Whitney PW-127 engines and fitted with state-of-the-art avionics system. The aircraft have an impressive exterior and appealing interior, a highly efficient performance and extra quiet operating conditions. They are configured to carry 70 passengers with 30-inch seat pitch. Yangon Airway's aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of airworthiness requirements.

The sophisticated flight Deck of the ATR 72-210, a new generation turbo-prop airliner with a modern Cockpit, demands pilots with a high level of skill. Being French - registered the certificate of Airworthiness for Yangon Airways ATR - 72 aircraft is issued and renewed annually by the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC).

A new domestic airline called "Air Bagan" is now operating in Myanmar by using three aircrafts: Fokker 100(106 capacity flight), ATR 72 (70 capacity flight), ATR 42 (44 capacity flight) and Airbus A 310. It flies to Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaung Oo, Heho, Tachileik, Kyaing tong. And its advantage is operating to the restricted areas as Myaikyina, Putao, Myeik, Kawthaung and Pathein.
Air Bagan is also available for Charter flight services. Air Bagan employs a mix of local and foreign pilots who have accumulated thousands of flight hours flying all over Myanmar and various parts of the world, adept and experience with all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Asian Wings Airline is newly launched in March 2011. Asian Wings, having been incorporated since 17 September, 2010, as a private airline based in Yangon International Airport – successfully inaugurated on 27 January, 2011.

Air KBZ and also called AIR KANBAWZA is going newly to be launched in April 2011. It will be at your service starting from 2nd April 2011 with brand new Air craft ATR72-500 equipped with 64 all-leather seats. AIR KBZ makes 4th Domestic Airline in Myanmar.
Under the guidance of Myanmar Investment Commission, Air Kanbawza, otherwise known as AIR KBZ, was established in June 2010. The purpose of this establishment is to help the fellow existing airlines cater the growing demands of air travel in Myanmar. Taking off her very first commercial flight on April 2nd 2011, to this date AIR KBZ has unveiled 15 destinations altogether.
Destinations during the initial phase include Yangon, Nyaung U, Mandalay, Heho, and Myeik. With the support of the valued customers and dedicated employees, as of today the airline has expanded its operation to Nay Pyi Taw, Kalay, Myitkyina, Lashio, Tachileik, Kyaing Tong, Dawei, Kaw Thaung, Thandwe and Sittwe. AIR KBZ aims to have more than 20 destinations in the near future, covering all the commercial centers of Myanmar.
